Beginnings

Our family is involved with an independent home learning program called Self-Design. For 34 weeks of the year, I weekly submit an Observing For Learning (O4L) form, recapping the previous week's observed learning moments. Initially, this process was a bit much for me. The commitment of having to submit weekly and the pain of trying to play catch up when I fell behind was overwhelming. As this past year wore on, I found myself enjoying nurturing the writer within me. Reflecting on my weekly observations and sharing them with a Learning Consultant became an amazing learning experience for myself. I listened to conversations between my children and saw learning, I watched my children play and I saw learning. I was reminded that learning is EVERYWHERE, ALL THE TIME! I found myself eager to write and share all the wonderful moments of growth, inspiration, exploration and questions I was blessed to be a part of and/or observe. I am now finished with my 34 week commitment and will start up a new year with Self Design in the Fall. I miss O4L ing! The desire to share my family's journeys through life gave birth to the idea to blog....and so here I find myself....Beginning .....
